Welcome to our “Ontdek Tsjechië” (Discover the Czech Republic) website! In April 2006 we, Jan and Liesbeth, moved to Bernartice in the Czech Republic with our French bulldog Spike. In the village of Bernartice, at the feet of the Giant Mountains, we bought a property in 2005. There we started our holidayhome Nas Dum in June of 2007. On this site you will find information about our house and about Czech culture, siteseeing, tourism, etc.

Bernartice is situated 5 km away from Zacler and 12 km from Trutnov, the largest town in the region. In Trutnov there are several large supermarkets, cozy shops around the main square and many cute restaurants and cafeterias. Bernartice has 950 inhabitants and the village has its own supermarket and postoffice.Around our holidayhome there are various routes for walking and cycling. In winter there are of course plenty of possibilities for skiing (cross-country and downhill) and snowboarding. The nearest slope is a 5 minutes drive away from our home.

In Nas Dum, which means “Our Home”, we have lodgings for 20 guests at a time. All rooms have their own shower and toilet. We have two 4-person rooms, one double room and a room for 6 people. Besides these separate rooms, we rent out a 4-person appartment. On the main floor there is a cozy TV-room and a large living-room for our guests.
